London

We started Catweazle in London after getting so many artists from the capital wanting to visit us in Oxford. It seemed that despite boasting one of the broadest open mic scenes in the world, there was still nothing quite like Catweazle.

We set up shop at the Paradise in Kensal Green in January 2009, before moving to the North London Tavern in the Autumn of that year. A beautiful room which is now home to some of London’s finest underground talent every Tuesday night.

Matt hosts the show most weeks, with performance poet extraordinaire Sophia Blackwell sitting in every now and again. The London session has quickly grown into a strong and cohesive creative community, much like its Oxford sibling, but with a character all its own.
